It is one of the world’s most beloved Christmas songs of all time.

Helen Murphy is a music and entertainment veteran, in the business for over thirty years. She's worked with global superstars including José Feliciano, Lionel Richie, Martha Stewart, Michael Flatley, and a myriad of others. Among her many accolades, Helen is ranked as one of Billboard's 2020 Power 100 and is CEO of Anthem Entertainment. Anthem is an independent global music and entertainment company.

Her association with José Feliciano is a special one. She has worked with the icon for over a decade and continues to be moved by his remarkable journey in overcoming enormous obstacles with music as his guiding force. Revered as one the world's greatest guitarists, Feliciano is the first Latin American to win Best New Artist and Best Contemporary Pop Vocal GRAMMY Awards and is celebrated today as the first global Latin crossover artist and the first ever to stylize the US national anthem.

Helen was inspired to direct and Produce the animated video and to write the book, "José Feliciano's Feliz Navidad- 50th Anniversary" to share the joy and celebrate the cultural impact that José's music, and "Feliz Navidad" in particular, has had on the world. The song has an infectious and undeniable emotional effect every time it is heard. The goal was to capture that joyful spirit in the form of an animated video and a children's book for new and future generations of families everywhere. Helen has depicted José in the book as a music superhero who travels the world on Christmas Eve, in a flying red convertible, playing his guitar and singing "Feliz Navidad." For over 50 years, José has toured the world singing "Feliz Navidad" in concert, spreading a message of the peace, love and joy that the Christmas season brings to all.

Helen has also produced and directed the documentary "José Feliciano: Behind This Guitar," with her creative partner, Frank Licari. The film chronicles the life and continuing 50+ year music career of this famous singer/guitarist and includes hits such as "Light My Fire," "Chico and the Man," "Che Sarà," "Feliz Navidad," "Me Enamoré" and many more. It will also be released in 2020.

José Feliciano is a beloved singer/songwriter/guitarist and nine-time GRAMMY Award Winner, including a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions in music. The Puerto Rican-born artist is known for his many international hits, including his rendition of The Doors’ “Light My Fire,” “Che Sarà,”“La Copa Rota,” “Por Qué Te Tengo Que Olvidar?” the theme song, “Chico and The Man” from the hit television show and his rendition of “California Dreamin” which was featured in Quentin Tarantino’s acclaimed film, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019) and went on to be one of the most streamed tracks from its soundtrack. Feliciano stirred national controversy and made history in 1968 as the first artist ever to stylize the US national anthem. His soulful recording of the “Star Spangled Banner” became the first version of the anthem to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

Written and performed by José, “Feliz Navidad” is one of the best-selling holiday songs of all time. The infectious evergreen song was recorded with producer Rick Jarrard in October 1970 and released one month later in November 1970 on RCA Records. Surprisingly, the song first hit the charts in 1998 on Billboard’s Hot 100, and then charted again in 2017, an astounding 47 years after its original release. After it landed on the Hot 100 again in 2019, Forbes declared it’s the “gift that keeps on giving.” ASCAP recognized “Feliz Navidad” as one of the top 25 most played and recorded Christmas songs around the world. A seemingly endless list of artists across all genres has covered the iconic song, including Céline Dion, Garth Brooks, Chicago, The Three Tenors, Michael Bublé featuring Thalia, Gwen Stefani & Mon Laferte, Kacey Musgraves, and many more.

José’s most recent album, Behind This Guitar (2020) out on Anthem Records, joins his 60-plus albums in an incredible discography, solidifying José’s revered standing with critics and fans alike.
